Most of our offices offer same-day or next-day delivery of many of the lenses we carry. We can even fit most sunglass frames with prescription lenses if you prefer. And we guarantee all blended and progressive prescription lenses.

Lens manufacturers are always coming up with innovative new materials and components, resulting in lenses that offer different looks and benefits for the wearer. St. Charles Vision makes the following lenses available in your prescription.

Prescription

Photochromic Transition lenses

Transitions lenses are clear indoors and at night but automatically adjust their level of tint to changing light conditions outdoors. They provide visual comfort and quality at any and every moment. And just like sunblock protects your skin, Transitions lenses help preserve the health and wellness of your eyes for the future by blocking 100% of harmful UV rays.

Anti-reflective lenses

Anti-reflective coatings further improve the quality and the value of your lenses. An anti-reflective coating reduces disturbing reflections and makes lenses more attractive. And you will experience the most precise, crisp and clear natural vision in a brilliance that is not possible with un-coated lenses.

Gradient lenses

These lenses go from dark at the top to almost clear at the bottom. Available in a number of gradations, understand that lenses which are clear or very light at the bottom aren’t very effective in filtering out light below your line of vision or light that is reflected up at you.

Lens Coatings

Lens coatings can add style, UV protection and scratch resistance. They can even help make it easier to keep your lenses clean. St. Charles Vision Opticians can apply almost any coating to almost any lens. Just ask.

Prescription Sunglasses

If none of our designer frames suit you, St. Charles Vision can create prescription lenses for almost any sunglass style for any brand. Choose one of the many styles we offer or bring in your own. We’re happy to accommodate you.

Mirror lenses

Mirrored lenses reduce the amount of sunlight reaching the eye, providing extra comfort in strong glare conditions. They can be semi-opaque, meaning other people can see your eyes somewhat, or opaque, where they can’t see your eyes at all.

Polarizing lenses

The primary benefit of polarized lenses is reducing glare, making them far and away the best lenses for outdoor wear. Polarized lenses come in a number of colors, and can be coated with a mirrored finish on the front and anti-reflective finish on the back.

Zeiss Lenses

The Zeiss iTerminal, featured at our Severn location, is the professional modern technology answer to the precision measurement and placement of prescription lenses. It is similar to having a photo taken. A measurement apparatus is placed around the frame you have selected and your experienced optician will capture an image in seconds. Your lenses will be inserted to 1/10 of 1mm accuracy. This is a valuable piece of technology and eliminates virtually all prescription lens placement errors.

We also feature Zeiss ophthalmic lenses at all of our locations. They are the world leader in optics and just about every lens product that is in use today is produced as a result of Zeiss technology. Why compromise on the most important component of your spectacles? At St. Charles Vision, we offer a wide selection of high quality lenses, including the latest thin lenses. Though we offer a dizzying array of designer frames, we will happily fit any frames you bring in — even sunglass frames — with prescription lenses if you prefer.
