Dr. Ellen Nguyen, O.D.

A native of Crowley, La, Dr. Ellen Nguyen attended Loyola University New Orleans and received a B.A. in psychology with honors. Her doctorate of optometry degree was obtained at the University of Houston College of Optometry. Upon completion, she decided to pursue her residency at Chicago’s Illinois Eye Institute where she specialized in ocular disease and primary care. There, she also served as a faculty member lecturing on topics regarding ocular disease, therapeutic treatments, and contact lens fits.
Dr. Nguyen is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, the Louisiana State Board of Optometry, the American Academy of Optometry, and the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society. She is well trained in diagnosing and managing glaucoma, keratoconus, dry eyes, as well as other anterior and posterior segment disease. Her current practice also includes fitting contact lenses for patients with various corneal diseases and trauma.
In her spare time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys traveling across the globe, meeting new people, and exploring new restaurants.
