Jonathan B. Lappen, O.D.

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Jonathan B. Lappen graduated from Ithaca College in New York and received a B.A. degree in Biology. He earned an additional B.S. degree in Visual Sciences as well as his Doctor of Optometry degree, with clinical honors, from the distinguished Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. He then interned with some of the nation’s top eye care professionals at Wills Eye Hospital and Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, Associates in Ophthalmology in Pittsburgh, PA, and Eye Doctors of Washington in Washington, D.C.
Upon finishing his training, Dr. Lappen returned to his wife’s home state of Louisiana and has been practicing in the New Orleans area since 2008. He specializes in comprehensive eye care, emergency eye care, and the medical management of eye diseases.
Dr. Lappen is board certified in Louisiana and Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Louisiana State Optometric Association, American Optometric Association and the New Orleans Contact Lens Society.
In his spare time, Dr. Lappen enjoys running, water-skiing, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends. He is married to Michelle Lappen and they have one child, Matthew.
