Dr. Timothy J. Leach, O.D.

A New Orleans native, Dr. Leach graduated from Jesuit High School and earned his B.S. Degree in Biology from the University of Southern Mississippi. He earned his Doctor of Optometry Degree from the prestigious University of Alabama Birmingham School of Optometry in 1997, where he received extensive training in ocular disease, glaucoma, pediatric eye care and contact lenses, and completed clinical rotations at the Children’s Hospital, the VA Hospital, and the Helen Keller School for the deaf and blind.

In 1997, Dr. Leach joined a multi-disciplinary optometry/ophthalmology practice in rural southeast Louisiana, while also providing consultative services to the ER at St. Anne’s General Hospital and geriatric ocular services to residents at Raceland Manor Nursing Home.

Dr. Leach is Louisiana Board Certified in Therapeutics and National Board certified. He is a member of the Louisiana Association of Optometrists, the American Optometric Association and the Optometric Glaucoma Society.

Dr. Leach is an active member of the New Orleans and Luling/Boutte communities. He also plays tenor saxophone for Louisiana Spice (a local cover band) and formerly with the Bucktown All-Stars. He is a passionate sports fan and avid golfer. Dr. Leach is married to Myriam Pineda Leach and they have two children, Jonathan and Andrew.
