Dr. Charles G. Glaser, O.D., a native New Orleanian, opened St. Charles Vision’s first location in 1976, quickly earning a reputation as a contact lens specialist. Twenty-five years later, with partners Dr. Ivan Bank, Dr. Jim McGuinness, Dr. Kristi Cook, Dr. Stephen Warren, Dr. Ty Primo, and Dr. Tim Leach, St. Charles Vision offers expert eye care in nine offices throughout the metro region.
After earning his B.S. from Louisiana State University in 1970 and Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1974 from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, he joined the Ophthalmology Department of Ochsner Clinic, assisting patients and teaching resident doctors in the theory and application of contact lens fitting.
Dr. Glaser is Board Certified in therapeutic medications in Louisiana and Tennessee. He has also earned National Board Certification. He is a member of the Louisiana State Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and the Contact Lens Section of the A.O.A.
Dr. Glaser supports the Greater New Orleans community by getting involved in a number of non-profit organizations. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Touro Synagogue and The Lighthouse for the Blind.
An avid cyclist, Dr. Glaser also enjoys gardening, running and hiking in his free time. His spouse Cathy serves as Regional Director of The Anti-Defamation League. They have three children, Alex, Rachel, and Maggie.
