Dr. James C. McGuinness

James C. McGuinness, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. James C. McGuinness of St. Charles Vision Outlets is the spokesperson for the firm's efforts to educate the public about Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS).

Dr. McGuinness is a lifelong resident of New Orleans, graduating from Holy Cross High School and earning his degree in biological sciences from the University of New Orleans. He studied optometry at the University of Houston College of Optometry.

Back in New Orleans, he served as clinical director at Stevenson Medical/Surgical Eye Center, where he worked with pre- and post-operative surgical patients, he is highly experienced in the management of eye disease, and he served as clinical coordinator for numerous drug studies.
In 1994 he became a partner in St. Charles Vision Outlet. Dr. McGuinness practices at the Elmwood and Veterans Boulevard offices, where he specializes in hard-to-fit contact lens patients and computer vision syndrome.
